Just finished reading DOLLARS & SENSE some days ago, and the lessons from the book are so applicable to the buzz surrounding Black Friday. When it comes to making financial decisions, what really matters is opportunity costs (what are you sacrificing when you buy a thing), and, the true benefits of what you bought. If you see a shirt priced $100, but βOn Sale! 40% Off! Only $60β β you are not saving $40, you are spending $60. Before you spend, think of money in terms of how long it takes for you to earn it.
