It Is Within You

When you read the story of Adam and Eve, what do you see?

With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I see much more than an accurate historical description of the origin of the human race. And so should you!

Look, I’m not denying the fact that the Book of Genesis, especially the creation story should first of all be taken literally. However, I also believe that the Book of Genesis, especially the creation story is a kind of microcosm of the entire Bible. Believe me sincerely, you ought to be treating the book of Genesis with greater respect.

In a previous post, I told you how God inflated you with His raw, fresh and Divine Inspiration. Now take a look at this verse,

“And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him (Gen 2:20 KJV Emphasis mine)

Did you notice the word ‘but’?

But for Adam there was not found an help meet for him…

The ‘buts’ seem to rear out their ugly heads in our lives every now and then.

When this happens, we start questioning ourselves and even God.

We point our accusing fingers at the Almighty God – our Creator – and we remind Him (as if He forgot) of His Promises to us.

But in the midst of all this, we seem to want to try and remember Genesis 1:31a,

“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good (KJV)

God saw all that He made and they were not just good, but very good!

Despite this, Adam apparently still had a ‘but’ in his life. He still had no help meet. Yet God had said that all that He created were very good. I’m sure, if you and I were to be in Adam’s shoes, we would have sulked all around the Garden of Eden mumbling something like, “God, I thought You said that all things created by You were good. Well, I think You are forgetting a little something here. Something like my help meet. I’m a little bit lonely down here. Hello!”

Do you know what I consider to be the most profound part of the story?

Genesis 2:18 says,

“And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him (KJV)

This statement was made long before Adam felt the need for a help meet, and long before Adam even thought of feeling lonely. The truth is that long before Adam had the breath of God’s Life residing within him, God had long since solved Adam’s loneliness issue.

How do I know, you may ask? Well, Genesis 1:27 is the answer you need:

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (KJV Emphasis mine)

Long before Adam was aware of his creation. Long before Adam had become conscious of his purpose in the Garden of Eden. Long before Adam felt the pain of loneliness and the necessity of a help meet, God had already provided Adam, not just a help meet but a family.

And where was the answer? Adam had been carrying it within him all along.

You know what?

The Spirit of God is an Auto-Creative Force. The Bible refers to Him as the Finger of God (Exodus 31:18, Luke 11:20). In essence, the Spirit of God is God’s ‘Hand’ – the way God works. And when the Spirit of God dwells within you, that Auto-Creative Force brings to being what you so desperately need.

God has inflated us with His Spirit. We have everything we need for success in life.

1 Corinthians 2:10-12 says,

“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (KJV)

God has given unto us His very Life. Now that He has given us all we need, what else remains?

This is what God saw in us. This is the very reason why He called everything He created good. Very good.

Note that God did not form Adam’s help meet from the dust of the ground. He didn’t have to. God had already inflated Adam with His raw, fresh and Divine Inspiration.

All God had to do was to dull Adam’s sensitivity to the natural physical things around the man. And believe me sincerely, we all have a very restless and noisy flesh nature that needs to be quieted before we can identify what God has already deposited into us. We have to put our senses, our logic and our critical mind in our pockets before we can identify our answer that had been lying latently within us.

“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof (Gen 2:21KJV)

And then God simply took out of the treasures He had already deposited into the man and fashioned out what Adam needed.

“And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man (Gen 2: 22 KJV)

The surprising thing is the fact that Adam also knew what had happened, as soon as He had seen his help meet. Note what Adam said in the next verse,

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. (Gen 2:23 KJV)

Adam’s natural sensitivity might have been dulled, but his spirit man was definitely alert!

In the day of old, Adam’s challenge was one of loneliness; what is yours today?

Poverty?

Confusion?

Living life without a sense of direction and purpose?

Sicknesses and Diseases?

Whatever it is, remember all that God created is very good.

Remember that you have God’s Divinely Inspired Breath, which is the Holy Spirit dwelling within you.

And remember that the answer you are desperately looking for is within you.

It could be a flash of insight.

It could be an enlightening discernment.

It could be a sudden knowing.

Whatever it is, the answer has already been placed within you by God.

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3 KJV)

God Wants You To Be Rich

A couple of months ago, I had the privilege of watching one of the popular TED Talks – a series of special, motivational or inspirational talks. I gained a lot of things and I was prompted to look for more of such videos. Along the line, I stumbled on one particular talk that grabbed my attention. I gave in to it.

This sweet lady was passionate about what she was saying, which was something about the rampage of poverty in the world. She talked and talked and finally gave in to the tears that were dammed behind her glass eyes. In due course, she soon mumbled something on how people could believe the existence of God. Then as a way to prove herself, she quoted a portion from Deuteronomy 15,

“For the poor shall never cease out of the land… (Deut 15:11a KJV)

And then the lady hammered and hammered on that particular phrase: “For the poor shall never cease out of the land…”

Now, I’m not taking a dig at the woman from the TED Talks or anybody with similar opinions. As a matter of fact, I think she actually made a lot of sense and raised valid points as long as she stayed on course. However, that would not stop me from bring your attention to a point that I’ve shared with you before and will most likely share with you again:

Don’t take Bible verses in isolation!

You see, to have a better understanding of the contextual meanings of scriptural texts, it always pays to read the preceding and succeeding verses. And the same principle applies here.

God loves us very much and He wants us to live a glorious life here on earth and then in heaven.

Little wonder that the Bible says,

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 2 KJV)

That is God’s perfect will for us; a rich and prosperous soul, as well as a rich and prosperous body.

2 Corinthians 8:9 also goes on to say,

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (KJV)

That truth is very weighty. We find it so easy to believe that Christ became sin for us and we have His righteousness. Yet, we surprisingly find it so difficult to accept that Christ became poor for our sakes so that we could be rich and enjoy His wealth.

Friend, which do you think is harder: Christ making you righteous or Him making you rich?

Believe me, making you righteous was far more tasking than making you rich. You know why? Poverty is just one of the many results of sin. Sin would cause all types of sicknesses, including financial sickness. Sin would cause all types of death, including fiscal death. Sin would cause poverty. Christ redeemed us from sin, therefore, He also redeemed us from poverty.

That is a vital truth, if you can take it.

God doesn’t want you to be poor. He created you in His Image. He is rich and he created you to be rich. Anything otherwise is as if you are trying to put God to shame.

With this at the back of our minds, let us return to our friend from the TED Talks.

Deuteronomy 15:11 says,

“For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land (KJV)

To have a better view of the scenario, go as far back as the 4th verse of the same chapter,

“Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the Lord shall greatly bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it (Deut 15:4 KJV)

“However, there should be no poor among you, for in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you (Deut 15:4 NIV)

“However, there will be no poor among you, sincethe Lord will surely bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess (Deut 15:4 NASU)

“But there will be no poor among you; for the Lord will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess (Deut 15:4 ESV)

Wow! Now, I wonder why no one seems to enjoy quoting this portion.

This is God’s will for us. He said that there would be NO poor people amongst us. He said He would bless us in our own land. This is God’s Promise to us, spoken from His Word. God is not like men that say what they do not mean. No, God is the God of Integrity. He is bound by His Word because His Word is His Bond. He honors His Word much more than anything He has named. He has promised and He would do it.

That’s good, right? Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but there’s a part that no one lie to listen to. Despite the fact that God is a loving God with promises that He’d fulfill, He is not irresponsible. Every promise of God has a condition. And Deuteronomy 15:5 spells it out,

“Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day (KJV Emphasis mine)

Very simple conditions. Yet seemingly hard for the average Joe.

God’s conditions for Him to load you with immense prosperity is simple and straightforward: Listen to God’s Commands and do them.

That’s all. Really, that’s all.

But the truth about God is that He knows all things. He knows the end from the beginning. And the fact that He has given unto man the gift of Free Will, God knows that many people would choose NOT to meet His simple and clear-cut conditions He had already laid down for us to be care-takers of His wealth. This is the reason Deuteronomy 15:11 comes into the picture.

God is not saying that because He is the Almighty One, He would just select people randomly that would automatically be poor. No, that is far from the way God works. Rather, we are the ones that get to choose whether or not we want to meet up to God’s basic conditions for u to receive His Blessings.

“…To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts (Heb 4:7bKJV)

More Than Just A Story

Ever heard the joke of the boss and his stenographer?

No? Okay, here it is:

The boss calls his stenographer to his office on this fateful day. After dictating a letter at rapid-fire pace, he asks the young woman to read what she has typed.

“Well sir,” she starts. “Do you mind repeating what you said between ‘Dear Sir’ and ‘Yours’ faithfully’?”

In the same vein, people see God as the Boss Who called everything into being in a rapid-fire six days. Like the stenographer, we are liable to miss most of what happened in the Creation Story. We just want to grasp only what our minds can easily handle. However, unlike the stenographer, we don’t ask God’s Holy Spirit what He said between ‘Dear Sir’ and ‘Yours’ faithfully’. We don’t have the humility to do so. Instead, we hold on to the part we heard (and the part we didn’t hear right):

Adam is created.

He’s told what to do and what not to do.

He soon becomes lonely.

God creates Eve.

Eve’s tempted with the Forbidden Apple. (I really don’t know where this came from)

She gives Adam the fruit to eat.

They find out that they’re naked.

They are sent out from the Garden of Eden.

The End.

The good thing about walking with the Holy Spirit is that He’s able to increase the pace of your understanding to meet God’s standards. It isn’t God that is too fast, we are the ones that are too slow.

Garden of Eden - animals, sunshine, tree, grass, garden, flowers

Now, let’s look at some parts of the Story and we’d find out what God is telling us.

Genesis 2:6 says,

“But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. (KJV)

Personally, I mulled over this verse for months. I knew there was a greater meaning to it because the Holy Spirit was keeping me on the verse. I knew there was a nugget there for me but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

The mist that went up from the earth?

The same mist would water the whole face of the ground?

Then, I was led to John 7:38-39 which says, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit…”

Oh! We are getting somewhere.

If the mist came out of the earth (clay, MAN!) and then watered the face of the ground, surely, in the same way, anyone who believes in Jesus Christ would have rivers of living water ministering grace to as many that are thirsty. And this living water IS the Holy Spirit!

So, it is safe to say that Genesis 2:6 is talking about more than how God irrigated the Garden of Eden, but how the life of a normal Christian should be.

You were created for an overflow.

You are not getting the blessings in your life just keep on amassing and amassing wealth for yourself.

No! You were created to impart others.

You were created to touch lives. You are more than a cup of clean chilled water. You are a wellspring of life. God’s life!

The blessings that God has imputed into you are to the benefit and uplifting of others.

However, if you’re not yet satisfied with my explanation thus far, see this verse of the Bible,

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Phil 1:6 KJV Emphasis mine)

It’s showing the same principle again. From within to without.

The Holy Spirit starts His silent work in the life of the believer in the same way that no one knows that the gentle mist rising up from the earth is still the same mist that would end up watering the whole face of the ground.

No one knows that the same Spirit that caused the man who is hungry and thirsty for righteousness to run to Jesus for a drink (“If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. John 7:37KJV) would also cause rivers of living water to flow from his very own belly.

That is how the Spirit of God works. His silent work on the inside a believer would always end up bringing forth beauty on the outside. That’s how He works!

Okay, let’s get into deeper waters,

Genesis 2:7 says,

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (KJV)

Let’s play this in slow-mo:

God creates the man from the dust of the ground, but the man is as good as ordinary earth…which is not so bad, considering the fact that a mist somehow, somewhere had risen up from it to bring comfort to the face of the ground.

But God has more in store.

He breathes into the nostrils of the earthy man, the breath of life. And instantly, the man became a living soul.

In the original Hebrew text, the words that were interpreted as “the breath of life” would literally mean a raw, strong and fresh Divine Inspiration.

If only you cold grasp this profound truth.

You have the raw, strong and fresh inspiration from God Himself within you! In essence, it was until God gave you a part of Himself that you became a living soul.

The original Hebrew word that is translated as “breathed” would literally mean to inflate. That means, Jehovah God Himself inflated you with His raw, strong and fresh Divine Inspiration.

All that is within you is the very breath of God.

You are carrying God in you and you should be afraid of nothing.

You are carrying God within you and you are not permitted to be confused or suffer any lack.

You are carrying God within you and it’s a taboo for sickness, depression and fear to take over your body.

If only you knew. If only you knew!

I never planned this post to go this way. What I had in mind was to go in depth into some passages pertaining to Adam and Eve. All the same, I believe that God has shown you some truths embedded in just two verses of Genesis Chapter 2.

Why don’t you drop all the religion you’ve learnt and for once, ask the Holy-Spirit Himself to teach you His Word at the pace you are meant to be? Try this, not only for Genesis, but for the whole Bible and you’d be surprised with what God has in store for you.

I Am Not Ashamed…

If, by any chance, you pick a post I wrote on this blog last year (before I went on my “sabbatical”) and compared them with my posts after I returned to blogging, you would notice some remarkable changes.

Now, I won’t tell you that my writing has improved drastically (your comments would inform me of that!). However, I believe that the most glaring of these changes is the way I now write my Christian posts. Back then, I used to refer to Christians as “Children of the Light”. I remember once referring to God as the “Ultimate One” or the “Ultimate Being”. While Christians are actually Children of the Light and God is indeed the Ultimate One, my motive behind coining these terms was far from the best. I was a timid person who was looking for readers to follow…and I did not want to offend anybody with my beliefs.

However, that was to change. I believe the Holy Spirit reminded me of what I would call a miniature version of the “Abomination of Desolation” that my eyes had the displeasure of seeing 5 – 10 years ago. My family was invited for a church’s fundraising program. When it was time to make the donations, a turbaned man walked to the front of the church, requested for a microphone and quoted from the Quran in Arabic for two whole minutes. Right there in the church of God! And nobody could, or rather would do anything. To crown it all, the turbaned guy said something like,

“Isn’t it money you want? By Allah’s grace, we would give you folks the money you need!”

He all said these in Yoruba, and I’m just making a rough interpretation. But you get the point.

I’m tempted to say the story of a Christian girl that dressed as an Alhaja and entered into a mosque…

Well…I just might as well summarize the story. During the course of the Jumat service, the girl suddenly threw off the hijab and started screaming something like,

“Jesus is coming soon, repent!”

Needless to say, she was beaten black and blue.

Now, I’m not trying to start a religious war here on blogosphere. Far from it!

I’m just trying to tell myself and others who care to listen: I know who I am. I am a Christian. I represent Christ Jesus in everything I say, in everything I think, in everything I do and most definitely in everything I write.

I think the ever-eloquent Paul did better justice in penning down the emotions I feel right now,

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth… (Rom 1:16a KJV)

 Image

For all I care, the Gospel of Christ is the POWER of GOD unto salvation to EVERYONE that BELIEVES!

I am a believer. I mean, what is there to be ashamed of?

That God saved me from spiritual death?

That God saved me from sickness?

That God saved me from poverty?

That God saved me from depressions?

That God saved me from fear?

That God saved me from failure?

Sorry sir, but I don’t think so.

And by the way, if Paul was not ashamed of the gospel, who am I to be???

The Believers’ Authority

Despite the fact that I am not a very muscular guy, I appreciate individuals who have taken the time and pains to develop their muscles into appropriate and aesthetic proportions. For this reason, I enjoy watching programs that feature these feature these endowed guys. Occasionally on these shows, a muscular man may decide to show off his powers. So, he ties a very strong rope about himself and attaches it to a multi-ton caterpillar. He huffs and puffs and eventually, the caterpillar starts to crawl by virtue of the enormous strength of the muscle man. It is usually an impressive sight.

Now, I don’t know what happens where you stay, but in my country Nigeria, traffic is regulated by traffic lights, as well as, traffic wardens. What impresses me most is what happens after an individual has been commissioned to wear the recognized orange shirts and black trousers of the traffic wardens. Such an individual could control hundreds of multi-ton trucks simultaneously. He does not huff and puff. All he has to do is to wave an arm or hold a hand, when he wants the truck(s) to move or stop.

Believe you me, a muscled man standing at the traffic warden’s post, with his pumped muscles bulging out in the eyes of the whole world, without the recognized uniform, is…well, just another guy.

Why would one well-muscled guy use all his strength to pull a heavy-duty vehicle while the other uniformed man only waves his hands and numerous similar vehicles move at once?

The answer is really simple and straightforward; the uniformed man has the power of the law backing him! Everything he does is done in the name of the law.

This scenario reminds me of a verse,

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Matt 28:18 KJV)

 Jesus said ALL power.

Not most, neither some or many.

He said ALL power had been given to Him.

If you are not yet excited by this verse, perhaps the next verse I’m about to share with you would shake things up a bit and make you see what you have been missing as a believer,

“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Gal 3:27 KJV)

 WOOHOOO!!!

Now, in case you have not done the maths, let me help you out:

If all power had been given to Jesus Christ that would mean that there is no power anywhere else

If you have been baptized into Christ that would mean that you have put on Christ

And if you have put on Christ that would mean that you are a walking DYNAMO!!!

I think this is the point where the analogy of the traffic warden really drives my point home. Any regular man can control traffic in the name of the laws of the land, once he puts on the recognized uniform.

In the same vein, any man can walk in dominion over diseases, sicknesses, poverty, failure, disappointments, depressions, defeats and the works in the Name of Jesus, once he puts on the recognized uniform – Jesus Christ.

So, what would it be?

Do you want to continue in your struggles with your finances and health, while you are huffing and puffing like the muscle man in my analogy? After a lot of effort, you might succeed in pulling one multi-ton truck…with two hundred more waiting for you.

Or,

Do you want to walk in the power and authority of the Name of Jesus, effortlessly riding over your concerns and fears?

The choice is yours, but I advise you, choose Christ.

The Mark Before A Mark

For some odd reason, I never really enjoyed reading the Revelations of John during my formative years. I remember forcing myself to read the book and how I ended up sweating profusely in my palms. The movie industry did not help matters too; their portrayal of the book of Revelations always centred on the hardships that the people on earth would face in the end-time. They always wanted to show the Beast in his power, forcing people to receive his 666 mark on their hands and foreheads (as found in Revelations 13). And yes, these film producers also seemed to derive pleasure in depicting the fate of people who refused to the take the mark.

Well, all these did not help me develop much of an appetite for Revelations. In fact, for years, most of my Bible reading was focused on the Gospels and the stories of the Old Testament and, later on, the epistles of the New Testament. Subconsciously, I avoided Revelations like a plague, all because I was scared of reading about the fate of people in the end-time.

However, all that was going to change.

At a point in my life, I believe that the Spirit of God prompted me to read the Book of Revelations. That was when, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I started seeing the book of Revelations in a brand new light.

I saw a vivid description of Heaven.

I saw Jesus Christ in His glory.

I saw the tree of life in the midst of the Paradise of God.

I saw the hidden manna.

I saw the very throne room of the Almighty God with the vast sea of glass.

Eventually, I got an eye-opener that totally turned my Religion upside down (That is good news since the Christian is called to be spiritual, not religious).

Remember how I told you that I refused to read the book of Revelations because I was scared of the vivid descriptions of the Beast and his mark?

Well, it turns out that about 6 chapters before the Beast is even mentioned, God in His Infinite Wisdom had made provisions for a mark of His Own in Revelations 7:2 – 3,

“And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea.

Saying, Do not harm the earth, the sea or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads”

From my little understanding of the English language, I know that the word “seal” could be used interchangeably with “mark”.

So, in essence, that verse is saying that till the servants of God (imagine the children of a CEO working in their Father’s company) have been sealed or marked in the foreheads, no harm would befall the earth, sea or trees. “No harm” also includes every possible for of maltreatment that would be inflicted by the Beast on whosoever does not receive his inferior mark.

From this point, I realized that if I was sealed with the mark/seal of the Living God on my forehead, I would be free from the mark of the Beast.

Why? Because the forehead is the seating place of the brain, which in turn is the organ through which the mind functions. Hence, the seal of the living God on my forehead would imply that my actions and thoughts are not controlled by my natural mind, but by God Himself. I would love whatever He loves, and hate whatever He hates. And all these would happen without me undergoing any form of discomfort.

Seeing this truth made me very excited. But I was eager to know what exactly what this mark was.

So, I searched the scriptures and found my answer in many points of the Bible.

An example is in 2 Timothy 2:19,

“Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal ‘The Lord knoweth them that are his’ and ‘Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity’”

You know what? God knows those that belong to Him. And the children of God also know that they belong to God. Romans 8:16 tells us that “the Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirits that we are children of God”. We know because of the indwelling Spirit of God within us.

In addition, in his letter to the Galatians, Apostle Paul said,

“From henceforth, let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus (Galatians 6:17)”

You know, many people have interpreted this verse in many ways. Some say that the marks that Paul was referring to were physically marks which were made on him during the severe whippings that Paul endured for preaching Christ. While this is true, I believe that Paul was also referring to the seal/mark of the living God. Note the phrase “…I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus”. Paul did not say “…I bear ON my body the marks of the Lord Jesus”. No, he said “…I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus”. I believe Paul was referring to his body as a container that’s carrying a seal/mark within it. This mark(s) is what made Paul who he was in Christ.

Furthermore, Ephesians 1:13 says,

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of salvation; in Who also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise”

Now it becomes very clear.

The mark that comes before any other mark is the seal of the living God. And the seal of the living God is the HOLY SPIRIT of promise.

You see, God loves us so much that even before the wickedness of the beast would cover the earth, He marked every true believer with the indwelling seal of the Holy Ghost.

Take a look at 2 Corinthians 5:5,

“Now He that wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, Who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit”. Some other translations end that verse as, “…Who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee”

Do you know the gravity of that verse? The Presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of any believer is like God saying,

“Look son (or daughter), I have bought you wholly with the Precious Blood of my Son Jesus Christ. I have redeemed you totally – spirit, soul and body. I have prepared for you a wonderful home for you in heaven. Now, take a part of My very Spirit – The Holy Spirit. Yes, that is My Seal, My Mark and your proof that you have a home in heaven after your sojourn here on earth. In the meantime, live a victorious and glorious life here on earth. You have My very Nature – The Divine Nature within you. You can now live victorious over sin, sickness, poverty, oppressions, depressions and the curses of the law. You can live the exact full life that my Son Jesus Christ lived here on earth. And when you are done here on earth, you shall have your mansion in My Heavenly House”

That, my friends, is the enigma of The Mark before a mark…

Judging The Perception Of The Sons Of God By The Sons Of God

Someone once quipped that there are 3 sides to any story:

Your side;

The other person’s/people’s side; and

The right side

Many times, the way we see things is totally dependent on how we are and not on the real state of whatever we are seeing.

To illustrate that point, let us imagine a cup that is filled with some measure of water. The pessimist would see the cup as half-empty: the optimist would see the cup as half-full; the realist would see the cup as one containing water; while the opportunist would DRINK the water, especially if it is chilled and the weather is particularly hot.

From the said illustration, all the individuals were correct, in that their reaction to the situation was dependent on their state of mind rather than the situation on ground.

In the same way, our approach to the term “sons of God” is totally dependent on the individual giving the definitions. From the Genealogy of Christ in Luke 3, Adam, the progenitor of all mankind was called “the sons of God”.

What does this imply? It simply means that by the virtue of creation, all of mankind can be referred to as children of God, or better still, the sons of God. This label holds true for all of God’s creation, regardless of one’s religious background, race, sentiments, or prejudices. This can be proven by the fact that there are a lot of general benefits that all creations get from God.

For example, the rain falls on all of mankind, including the Buddhist, the Moslem, the Animist and the Christian. The same holds for spiritual laws that work for all of mankind when they are followed.

Any man who engages in tithing and giving would always experience the boons of blessings.

Any man that embarks on speaking positivity to himself and everyone that is about him would always be prosperous.

All these are just a few of the spiritual laws that apply to and works for all of mankind, because we are all Children or sons of God.

Furthermore, we can take this truth to another dimension…if you can take it:

By virtue of creation, even satan is a “son” of the Living God. Yes, and that’s why satan could pop his ugly little head into a meeting of God with the “sons of God”, as is found in the book of Job!

However, if we look from another perspective, John 1:12 makes us to understand that anybody who believes in Christ Jesus is given the power to become a son of God. This explains that there is a higher level, which is greater than the general grace that exists for all of mankind. And this grace comes only by believing in Christ Jesus.

Nevertheless, just believing in Christ Jesus is only the basic beginning of God’s perfect plan for His sons.

Once one is born again, he/she receives the indwelling of God’s Own Spirit within him/her. This Spirit is the seal/guarantee on every believer that signifies that the individual has a home in heaven at the end of his/her stint stint here on earth.

Nonetheless, amongst the sons of God who believe on Christ Jesus, there is still a higher level of grace that can be attained. The 14th verse of Romans 8 makes us understand that as many that allow themselves to be led by the indwelling Spirit of God within them are the sons of God!

This is where it becomes all interesting…

First, there is a basic level of grace that exists on all mankind by virtue of creation based on the fact that they were (or are) one way or the other related to Adam, a son of God. This makes them qualified to be called the sons of God.

Then, there is a higher level of grace that exists on as many that believe on our Lord Jesus Christ. This is definitely higher than that which exists for all of mankind. This level is good, but it is not the best. You see, because of God’s great love for mankind he would not force Himself on any man. All mankind, regardless of whether they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior or not, have the ability to make choices. They have to choose to accept Christ or reject Him. They have to choose to be led by The Spirit of God or not.

And this is where the third level is.

The born again individuals who choose to be led by The Spirit of God.

These are the ones that Romans 8 verse 14 refers to. They are the ones that John 1 verse 17 talks about. They are the ones who have chosen to receive the fullness of God within them. They are the ones who know that they have received the exact kind of grace that operated in the life of Jesus when He was fulfilling His earthly ministry. You see, despite the fact that Jesus was fully God, while He was physically on earth, He was also 100% Man.

He sighed.

He groaned.

He slept.

He ate.

And He wept.

He was tempted in every way…

…yet He did not sin once.

Why was Jesus able to operate in the realm of grace He operated under?

Simple. Because He CHOSE to follow the leading of The Spirit of God within Him.

And as many that allow themselves to be led by The Spirit of God can live the exact way that Christ lived while He was on earth!

Now, when it comes to judging the perception of the sons of God by the sons of God, it is only one “group” of the sons of God that is permitted to do this:

Not the general sons of God…because of the sinful nature that all of mankind inherited from the first man Adam after the Fall.

Not the carnal believers of Christ…because they refuse to be led by the indwelling Spirit of God, but would rather follow their five senses and logic. Such people cannot know their covenant rights as a believer, because they refuse to follow The One who reveals all things.

However, as a son of God who is led by the Spirit of God, one is qualified to judge all things!!!

Why?

Read this excerpt from Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians,

But as it is written, eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.

But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God

Now we have received, not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ”

Please, Africa Is Not A Country!

There is this particular minister I really like listening to. I admire him a lot and respect the grace of God operating on him. In fact, I have a series of his teachings on my phone’s music player that I regularly listen to.

So, this day, I was listening to him teach and he was trying to buttress a very valid point by listing the countries that were affected by a particular issue,

“…it happens here in the U.S…go to Britain and you’d find the same thing there…also in Brazil, India and even AFRICA!”

On hearing the last phrase, it took me the grace of God not to tune out of this particular teaching.

Days later, I was watching a charismatic revivalist trying to make another point. He was like,

“We’re seeing the revival commence here in the U.S…it’s spreading out to Germany, Argentina, Japan, AFRICA…soon it would be all over the world!!!”

Again, on hearing that, it took me God’s grace not to miss what the man was saying.

Now, I’m not a fighter for the “emancipation” of the Black race fashioned after the form of Malcolm X, Nelson Mandela and other legendary vanguards (By the way, if there’s any kind of freedom needed by anybody at all, it is the freedom provided by the right kind of knowledge).

I’m also aware that the people that categorize Africa as a country usually do not have ulterior motives/ hidden agendas to downplay the importance of Africa as a continent.

However, I believe in always standing for what is right!

And categorizing the whole continent of Africa as a country is not right!!!

You see, just because China has a population of over 1.3 billion people and Africa has a population of about 1.1 billion people is still not enough reason to refer to it as a country…

Seriously speaking now. I mean, I agree Uganda, Swaziland, Liberia and Morocco are all in Africa. But the aforementioned countries are part of the over 50 nations that make up the whole continent of Africa. I won’t say that the fact that I visited France means I’ve visited the whole of Europe, despite the fact that France, indeed is in Europe; the same way, people also shouldn’t use vague generalizations when dealing with specific African countries.

So, instead of saying,

“We want ‘so-so-so’ to happen in Canada,Peru, Belgium, Iraq and AFRICA…”

You can always say,

“We want ‘so-so-so’ to happen in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia”

You see how easy that was? Simple geography offends no one.

Furthermore, instead of saying,

“We’d be visiting Mexico, Bolivia, Holland, North Korea and AFRICA…”

You can always say,

“We’d be visiting Mexico, Bolivia, Holland, North Korea and Nigeria (or the specific African country/countries you’d be visiting)”

That, I believe, is right!!!

While I was ruminating on what to use for marking my return to blogging, I realized that there were numerous Children of the Light who had no idea of certain laws, perks or if you like, truths that should govern their everyday life.
